A man on a mission
Grand Architect Joss Noro has come to Earth on appointment from the president himself. He expects to construct a typical Draconian colony, not have primitive [or uncultured, or unrefined, or ignorant] humans questioning his plans.
Joss rejected love long ago when his first love fell into the mating thrall with another man. When his general tells him he'll be getting a mate, like it or not, it only makes the already-surly dragon even crankier.
A change of plans
Octavia joins the Draconian mating lottery as a last-chance gamble, hoping she can persuade the architect to listen to reason. She never expects her mate to be the very man she hates the most.
Joss and Octavia butt heads with as much passion as they give each other in the bedroom. But can Joss listen to the words of a backward human female, or will Octavia have to watch her city be destroyed once more?

The arrival of the Draconians to earth caused their enemy to follow them to earth and destroy New York City in it's entirety. Civilians of the city are living in tents in a refugee camp in Central Park in the most horrible conditions.The Draconian Grand Architect Joss is sent to earth to build housing for the survivors, but his idea of housing is Draconian Colonial style, in other words boxes. Joss considers human inferior beings to the Draconian and wants nothing to do with the Mating Lottery, he will not take a human to mate. When he is entered in the lottery through no choice of his own, he is confronted by a feisty human mate who turns out to be a graduate in urban development and totally against the plans he has for Central Park.
Will Octavia be able to turn the stoic Draconian Architect to her way of thinking, or will his dragon make him go mad.

This is another good book in the series about Draconians and earth women becoming mate's and how they work to make a better world for all, really nice, sometimes funny and men thinking that they know it all but the women teaching them the difference as to who knows what. LOL
I enjoyed reading this story. It has a very different view of dragons and alien beings and I liked that. Although it did seem that the main dragon character changed overly quickly from disliking humans and being disgusted to being mated to one to wanting to please her. But all in all the story is enjoyable and a fun one to read.
This book is so cool in the fact that a Draconian is a male in so prejudiced about humans that he won’t pay attention but soon learns to change his ways.
Octavia blamed the Draconians for the condition New York city is in, the Draconians were protecting Earth and a middle aimed at New York got past them. But just as potentially disastrous for New York city could be an Alien architect's reconstruction plan.
This story is about respect, respecting cultures, values, people, their words and ideas, and being mindful of showing your respect.
I love black women with sexy alien men! At first I was really tired of Octavia blaming every problem humans had on the Draconians. Draconians wanted to make reparations to Earth for the war. Humans never made reparations for people who were enslaved instead forced African Americans in another kind if slavery. I felt at first Octavia was blaming all of humities faults with the Draconians which was not right! I love how you tie Lexi, Loretta and others into multiple stories. Can we get a book with their children in it?! Excellent experience! Enjoyed the story!
This is the story of Octavia Reynolds who is just one of the humans survived the bombing of earth by the aliens Murados. Draconians are there now trying to set back up New York and the world after millions and millions were killed. She is part of the survivor camp set up in Central park. She is a professional urban planning developer so she wants to meet this Grand Architect of Draconia Joss Noro. The only way she can meet his is to join the mating lottery. She doesn't want to but she goes ahead and gives her DNA and lo and behold guess who she is mated with. To Josh Noro who has no respect for humans. Their relationship starts off so bad and you get to watch it grow in this story.. This has a happy ever after ending.
